Here’s What You Get
Our journey takes us north from Punta Cana, into the Oriental Mountain Range. Once we reach deep into the countryside, we’ll transfer from a bus to safari trucks for our off-road adventure. Our first stop is a steep climb to “Montana Redonda” (Round Mountain) at some 600 meters above sea level. Enjoy one of the most spectacular views in the Dominican Republic’s eastern region with an unforgettable backdrop of endless rolling hills, lagoons, tropical shorelines and the Samana region in the distance. Enjoy a refreshing drink before we descend to visit a small country home where we’ll learn about, and taste, some common local produce like coffee, cocoa, fruits, nuts and spices.
Our next stop, at Rancho de la Cueva, is sure to please as you’ll enjoy a sumptuous buffet of langostinos (a kind of lobster), pork and chicken from the grill, rice and beans, salad, fruits and typical Dominican sweets, all washed down with soda, wine and coffee.
After lunch, and the cigar rolling competition, we’ll travel by horse back along the virgin coasts of Playa Limon, to the mouth of the Laguna Limon. Here, we’ll have time to enjoy the beach and drink from freshly cut coconuts, with or without rum. Finally, we’ll board motorized boats and take a slow cruise across the photo-inspiring Laguna Limon (a National Reserve), passing through mangrove forests which are home to numerous endemic flora and fauna.
