Here’s What You Get

Are you a Diver or a Snorkeler? If so, we’re gonna let you in on a little secret…

For an unforgettable Diving and/or Snorkeling experience, most prefer Bayahibe over Punta Cana.

Why?

  • Wrecks! Several scuttled ships wait on the ocean floor to be discovered and rediscovered.
  • Cotubanama National Park. You’ll be exploring the underwater world of a protected national reserve which makes for healthier reefs and more marine life!
  • It’s the Caribbean Sea Mon’. Calmer transparent waters with visibility up to 100 feet!

We spoke about the WHY; now let’s detail the WHAT.

Our dual haul 40 foot catamaran is the vessel of choice with:

  • Front deck and upstairs lounge – space to sit and relax in sun or shade
  • The Bar – enjoy rum, soda, water and snacks served to you with a smile 🙂
  • Convenience – easy access to the water via ladder or two side exits

And the excursion itself has FOUR Stops:

Stop 1 – The Atlantic Princess is a site to see. Scuttled close to shore in 1973 it was sucked out to sea during Tropical Storm Fay in 2009. Today, the wreck sits 12 meters deep and is surrounded by beautiful sponges and coral. Divers can explore the Princess’ many rooms, now home to mainly trumpet and lion fish, and snorkelers get a bird’s eye view of the entire underwater scene.

Stop 2 РEl Pe̱on. Renowned as one of the best dive sites in the Dominican Republic, this gorgeous reef is about 13 meters deep with an impressive diversity of flora and fauna. Keep an eye out for the occasional visit of eagle rays, turtles, nurse shark and even hammerheads! The snorkelers can enjoy the Pe̱on site as well and have easier access to the boat if a hammerhead shows up. Kidding!

Stop 3 – Saona Island. This 110 square kilometer pearl sits off the southern shores of the Dominican Republic. We’ll dock at Catuano Beach, known for its tranquil turquoise waters, white sands and lazy palms. Enjoy a typical Dominican lunch with barbecued chicken and pork, rice, pasta, salad and fruit.

Stop 4 – The Natural Pool. Nestled hundreds of meters from the shore, the natural pools of Palmilla are the epitome of Caribbean beauty. Waste deep crystal waters, a mile long backdrop of coconut palms and starfish in the sand. Grab a drink from the floating bar and take it all in.

If you read this far you’re a true Diver or Snorkeler! So, scroll up and book now because the reefs of Saona Island sell themselves.

The Caribbean Sea awaits…

1 review for Saona Island Snorkel and Scuba

  1. Brian (verified purchase)

We took the snorkeling/diving excursion to Saona Island and had a great time. My husband did the diving and it had been quite a few years since he had been diving, his dive master was very attentive and took very good care of him. The rest of us snorkeled and the crew made sure we enjoyed ourselves and were safe without being over protective. The crew made sure everyone enjoyed the boat trips from one site to another. Thank you Goulash, John and the rest of the crew for making my husband’s 60th birthday one he will remember always. I will recommend this excursion to anyone wanting to enjoy the ocean up close.
