Segway Eco Tour
Here's What You Get
The BEST way to experience Punta Cana's renowned Ecological Reserve is on a
Segway!
Why visit the Punta Cana Ecological Reserve? It's breathtaking…
Over 40 years ago, Punta Cana Club & Resort set aside 1,500 acres of pristine, emerald forest for scientific research and conservation. And it's a good thing they did! Because, today, visitors can experience this protected acreage in its unspoiled state.
With our non-intrusive Segways (no prior riding experience required!), you'll wind through the wooded paths of the reserve which provides a safe habitat for an abundance of birds, reptiles, insects, and other local flora and fauna.
Now, lean forward as we take you through this natural sanctuary…
From our Segway Base Camp we slowly zip north passed several local greenhouses, a bee farm, a farm animal ranch and a sugar cane plantation/exhibition. Leaving the forest cover east, the scenery opens up to the grounds of the former Punta Cana Hotel and then to the current and luxurious Tortuga Bay Resort and La Cana Golf Course.
Stop 1 Serena Beach. You'll want to take a picture. Bone white sands, turquoise-colored lapping waters and shade bearing palm trees. It's the Caribbean at its most tranquil.
Back on the Segway, we ride north, hugging the tropical coastline and then retracing our path to a typical Dominican country home located on the Reserve.
Stop 2 Typical Home. Learn about Punta Cana's founding. Our guides will give you a short introduction on Punta Cana's infancy and how this destination went from wild, unknown jungle to the Caribbean's tourism capital.
Into the forest once again, we stop to meet a friendly species only found on the island of Hispaniola.
Stop 3 Rhinoceros Iguanas. Endangered and endemic to Hispaniola (the present day island comprised of the Dominican Republic and Haiti), these large land lizards look a bit scary but they're harmless! Pssst, they looooove bread.
Now, it's time to park the Segways but we've saved the best Stop for last!
A short hike takes us into the Indigenous Eyes section of the reserve, a secluded refuge with 12 fresh water lagoons, surrounded by lush vegetation. We only have time to visit one lagoon but a swim in this cool, refreshing spring is an unforgettable experience.
There's a limited amount of Segways permitted in the Reserve so scroll down and reserve yours as soon as possible.
Come with us to uniquely discover the Punta Cana Ecological Reserve…
