Here's What You Get

We'll take you from your hotel to the southern extremes of Punta Cana's coastline. We begin the day with a brisk hike to the peak of El Farallon Cliff. Here you'll hike through pristine tropical forests where our guide will bring to life the area's flora and fauna: natural medicines, herbs, barks and many plants that are still used today by natural healers throughout the Dominican Republic.

Approximately 25 minutes into the hike, we reach the mouth of Iguabonita cave. No need for rappelling as eco-friendly staircases lead you into the cave's further reaches. Our trained cavers will guide you through ancient cave formations that lie beneath. Admire bats in the depths of the cave and Taino Indian petroglyphs. Our exit then takes us out a totally different part of the cave. The return hike will follow the same trail, for approximately 20 minutes, until we reach our base. Here, we'll relax for a 30 minute break to enjoy a light lunch.

We proceed by hiking through an eco trail of both dry and humid forests where you will have the opportunity to visit an Orchid, Bromeliad, Fern, Cactus and endemic plant's station, stopping briefly at each station and learning everything about these fascinating species. While this part of the tour has an emphasis on observing the aforementioned plant species, the nature of the locations we visit are littered with wild flowers and plants as well as amazing scenery of all kinds.

The tour's final destination is also its biggest draw; Hoyo Azul is a natural pool, or cenote, with crystal clear blue water, formed at the base of a giant cliff. Jump in and enjoy this impossibly beautiful, azure lagoon.
